We look forward to sharing precious moments together
This year, together with Utrecht University, we are celebrating 385 years of science in Utrecht. Since the University's founding in 1636, we have been working together and with others to create a better world. The Faculty of Medicine was among the first four faculties established at the University.

We aim to make substantial contributions with our research and education, now and in the future. We do not do this alone, but always together. The world is full of new challenges and possibilities. For our patients, our partners, our students and our staff. More than ever before we believe in learning together, connecting all these worlds. Because when different worlds come together, it leads to unexpected insights and groundbreaking innovations.
Despite everything – in fact, now more than ever – we feel it is important to celebrate this anniversary with Utrecht residents, staff and students. By doing so, we can further strengthen our connection with the city of Utrecht in these difficult times.
Creating tomorrow together
This anniversary is all about tomorrow. About the future. And about imagination. We are working to create an 'Utrecht Science Agenda’ in cooperation with Utrecht residents. We’re doing this by asking stakeholders about their questions and wishes for the future. By exploring and learning together. We are organising dialogues about the future and making our rich history visible at various locations. Our floating platform, a sustainable structure, provides the perfect spot to get together in this anniversary year.

Together, we are seeking answers to successive new challenges. Together, we are coming up with solutions to problems in the city. More than ever before, we believe in learning together and in forging connections between questions, experience and expertise. Because when different worlds come together, it leads to unexpected insights and groundbreaking innovations. In order to build a better future, we must first imagine what that future will look like.
‘Together’ is the key word for this anniversary. We work, learn and live together. And we celebrate together. Even – and perhaps especially – in these times, we can look forward to sharing precious moments together.
